South OC IRWM  

The South OC Watershed Management Area (SOCWMA) IRWM Group represents a diverse group of stakeholders engaged in integrating water resource planning across multiple sectors, including (but not limited to): jurisdictions; water, wastewater and groundwater agencies; environmental non-profits; non-governmental organizations; academic institutions; transportation entities; and local residents. The South OC IRWM Group has worked collaboratively for over a decade, representing one of the longest-running recognized IRWM Regions in the state. A 22-Member Agency Cooperative Agreement provides the requisite governance structure for the Region. 

The SOCWMA IRWM Group is proud of investments made in integrated water resource planning, reflected in the 2018 IRWM Plan (scroll down this page to view).

The 2018 South OC IRWM Plan (IRWM Plan) goals, measurable objectives and strategies reflect integrated planning in South OC, balancing water supply, habitat restoration, surface water quality, and flood management priorities. As such, the IRWM Plan represents an integration of multiple planning efforts and documents. Examples include: the OC Water Reliability Study; Salt and Nutrient Management Plan (SNMP); Water Quality Improvement Plan (WQIP) for South Orange County; San Juan Basin Groundwater Management & Facilities Plan; Orange County Stormwater Resource Plan (OC SWRP); and more.  Click here to visit South OC IRWM Portal. 

 

North OC IRWM

The North OC IRWM Group spans both the North and Central Watershed Management Areas (WMAs) and represents a diverse group of stakeholders engaged in integrating water resource planning across multiple sectors.  These sectors include, but are not limited to: municipalities; water, wastewater, and groundwater agencies; environmental non-profits; non-governmental organizations; academic institutions; transportation entities; and, local residents.

The 2018 North OC IRWM Plan (the OC Plan) goals, measurable objectives, and strategies reflect integrated planning in North and Central OC, balancing water supply, habitat restoration, surface water quality, flood management, climate change, and quality of life priorities. As such, the IRWM Plan represents an integration of multiple planning efforts and documents. Examples include: the OC Water Reliability Study; Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA) Basin 8-1 Alternative Plan; Orange County Stormwater Resource Plan (OC SWRP); and more.
